When I used to watch a lot more porn (before I started to focus my attention on sex cam sites) one of my favorite niches was amateur. Sure, I love hot pornstars, but what I love more are the amateurs: the non-pro chicks that look like girls I would date or run into at the store.

What initially drew me to Cam Fuze was how truly amateur the cam performers were. I mean, right on the site's banner one of the taglines is “Broadcast your own live webcam“ and one of the prominent menu links is “broadcast yourself.“ This site is all about regular folks from all around the world doing the live cam thing.

If you're like me then just reading that will get you to check out the site, but having done so I can tell you that it isn't all good news. You see, sometimes the reason why something is good is also a reason for some of its problems. And that's the case here.

While the amateurishness of the chicks is what intrigued me, it's the amateurishness site design that leaves something to be desired. It's pretty standard, but there's a lack of features. There's no advanced search, or any search for that matter. In fact, the only things they do offer are “featured,“ “female,“ “male,“ “couples,“ and “shemale“ filters. Besides that you're left on your own to scroll and click around.

Also, one of my favorite sex cam features is when I can hover over a preview thumbnail and get a live view of the performer's cam at that instant. Well, that doesn't work here. Instead the image is a still pic of her live cam taken within the last little while.

And finally, there's the quality of the cams themselves. Anyone who's ever spent any time in chat rooms with people from around the world, know that the cam quality can be hit or miss and that's the case with CamFuze. Everything is dependent on your internet connection as well as the quality of the webcam you're using and unfortunately, overall, I found things to look pretty average. Also, some performers don't understand how important proper lighting can be, so some rooms are a little darker than they should be.

We haven't talked about the “free“ yet. Yes, CamFuze.com is rightly placed in the “free cam sites“ section and therein lies another of its pluses. The free here works pretty much like it does on most other free sites. While you can do private chats it seems like most of the action here takes place in the free rooms, as the babes, guys, couples and trannies try to earn your tokens.

Some of them set token goals and when they hit those goals they do things, get naked, play with themselves, etc., and others seem to try to get tokens by turning you on as much as they can, with no clear goal. Either way, I'm always able to find multiple chicks getting naughty and I don't have to be the one to spend any tokens. Yes, sometimes I'll give a girl tokens because I want to support really good performers, but some days I just browse and only get lots of free looks.

The real amateurs and the “free“ part are two big pluses, but the lack of features makes the user-experience a little less appealing. And the fact that most cams are average in quality at best also doesn't have me coming back as often as I would with some of the other free sites on the list.
