RIV Cams (Italian)

RIV Cams is one of the newer cam sites I have discovered and when I first found it I had no idea that it was going to end up in my International Cam Sites section. All the text is in English so there was nothing to indicate I was looking at a site from another country. I assume they recognized I was from North America as everything automatically switched to English, but unlike other sites that do that, this wasn't some laughable translation.

Now, once I clicked into some chick's live cam room and saw the chat window, English was no longer the norm as all the chatting in that particular room was in Italian (no, I don't speak Italian, but all the “grazie“ and “ciao“ gave it away). So beyond the language thing, how does RIVCams hold up when compared to other sex cam sites? Well, there is some good and some bad, so let’s get the bad out of the way.

Unfortunately, the bad has to do with cam quality. I have been back a few times now and during each visit I checked out multiple performers and was generally unimpressed. It probably doesn’t help that most of the girls don't turn on enough lights in their room, so everything is a little darker than it needs to be.

Motion is usually okay and pretty fluid, but the image quality is often not very clear. In this day and age, with high-speed internet and high-quality, inexpensive webcams, I don’t understand why these look so mediocre. Also, the live cam window is huge and while I could see a way to make it full screen I couldn’t see any way to make it smaller, which could have helped the image look a little better.

Okay, let me move to the good now and tell you about the pricing. Well, as is usually the case, it is free to sign up and browse and check out the live cams in the free chat rooms (you can even do that without signing up). But if you want to take one of these Italian hotties private it will cost you a per-minute charge.

Now, the performers all seem to set their own prices, but based on what I have seen, they seem to range from 17 credits/minute to 27 credits/minute. As for the cost of the credits they can range from about 9-12 cents/credit depending on which bundle you go with, which means you can go private for about $1.70-$3/minute, with most falling in the $2-$2.50/minute range, which is definitely a pretty good price.

But you don't only have to spend your credits on private chats. On a performer’s profile page you can also drop some credits on her private images (around $1/image) and many of them also offer up their email and a few will even give up their mobile number for a price (generally around $50-$90 for either). And the site does say that they have verified this info so you will get what you pay for.

To finish up let’s go over a few final matters. The site has a nice, clean design and there’s no issue with navigation. There’s a filter/advanced search engine along the left-hand side and you can hover over preview images to get a live look at the performer's cam at that moment.

Now, while the babes appear to be Italian, some of them are able to communicate in other languages, including English, and they have various flags on their profile indicating which languages they understand so if you’re having issues getting your point across try to find a performer who speaks your language. I haven't had any deep conversations here, but I have been able to communicate enough that the ladies have known exactly what I wanted to see.

The per-minute price is nice and the option to get more personal communication methods is something that other sites don't usually offer. However, the lower cam quality is a big negative and the reason I don’t visit RIV Cams as much as I would otherwise.
